Features/Curvy route styles

Choose how curvy the ride should be

Most route planners find the fastest way. MotoCurve lets you pick the kind of ride you want, from the quickest route with live traffic to small winding backroads, and shows the whole route before you go.

Five route styles

Each style weighs roads differently. Pick one for the whole ride or a different one between each pair of stops.

  • Fastest: the quickest route right now, with slow traffic drawn yellow and heavy traffic red.
  • Balanced: mostly direct, but takes the nicer road when it costs little time.
  • Curvy: twisty roads and no highways, at the cost of some time.
  • Extra Curvy: hunts small winding backroads. Expect a much longer ride.
  • Off-road: gravel and forest roads, keeping pavement to a minimum, tuned for an adventure bike, a dual-sport or a dirt bike.

Shape the route to the roads you want

Drag the route line to bend it onto a road you know. Add via points for real stops like fuel and food, and small shaping points that steer the route without counting as stops. Undo and redo work as you would expect.

See the ride before you ride it

The summary shows distance, riding time, how twisty the route is, the share on dirt, and an elevation chart. Unpaved stretches are drawn as a dashed amber line, and MotoCurve can check the route for reported road closures.

Avoid what you do not want

Steer away from motorways, main roads, toll roads, ferries or unpaved roads, each at its own strength from Off to Max.

Questions

Where does MotoCurve plan routes?
Across the United States, Canada and Mexico, including rides that cross a border.
Can I use different route styles on one ride?
Yes. Each segment between two waypoints can have its own style, such as Fastest out of town and Extra Curvy through the mountains.
What does the Off-road style need?
Pick how much dirt you want and which bike you ride: adventure, dual-sport or dirt bike. MotoCurve keeps pavement to a minimum within that.
